Dr. Terence Tan - Lead, HealthCare / Life Sciences Startups Business Development, Asia Pacific & Japan - AWS

Dr. Terence Tan is the AWS lead for Asia Pacific (based in Singapore) for healthcare and life sciences. Terence qualified from Imperial College and worked in the NHS prior to returning to Singapore, where he worked in the public, private, NGO and government sectors before moving into clinical AI. He is an immunologist and primary care physician by training with a special interest in personalized nutrition, occupational and digital health.

Prior to joining AWS, Terence was the Global Medical Director for Ubie. Other career experiences include:

- research work in tacrolimus in non-small-cell lung cancer at Hammersmith Hospital
- assistant medical director, Parkway Shenton Private Limited
- associate Consultant, Ministry of Health, Singapore
- AI researcher for Babylon Health
- medical Director, Ubie
- exited founder of multiple healthcare businesses and clinics.

Terence is focused on helping startups in two areas:

- GTM expansion in the APAC market through B2B and association connections
- Gen AI implementation for use in conversational intelligence and synthetic data.
